| a Documentary project about the internal American opposition to the politics of control post 9/11 began at 4am one night, when a man in the street gave us a flyer about the October 6, 2002 demonstration in Central Park, telling us that it was important to participate and to make our own voices heard. That demonstration in Central Park was the first time in which those voices were raised in the United States, after a year of silence and acceptance. A voice of dissent had been raised in the United States, and the collective conscience had started to make itself heard in America in a more and more imposing way. Also, a part of the population not traditionally active was getting involved. Winter 2002-2003 saw the birth of what the New York Times defined as the second world-wide superpower: the people of the world. From October 6th to the end of March we have followed a movement constantly increasing, composed of various individuals who acknowledge common principles, and who have joined the chorus of voices of the first world-wide demonstrations. |
